Installing the CD-ROM


The companion CD-ROM contains all the source code and project files developed by the authors, plus an assortment of evaluation versions of third-party products. To install, please follow these steps:

Windows 95 / NT 4 Installation Instructions


  1. Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.

  2. From the Windows 95 / NT 4 desktop, double-click on the My Computer icon.

  3. Double-click on the icon representing your CD-ROM drive.

  4. Double-click on the setup.exe icon to run the CD-ROM installation program.


Windows 3.1 and NT 3.51 Installation Instructions


  1. Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.

  2. From File Manager or Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu.

  3. Type <drive>\setup and press Enter, where <drive> corresponds to the drive letter of your CD-ROM. For example, if your CD-ROM is drive D:, type D:\SETUP and press Enter.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.



NOTE

Windows 3.1 and NT 3.51 users will be unable to access the \WIN95NT4 directory because it was left in its original long filename state with a combination of upper and lower cases. This was done to enable Windows 95 and Windows NT 4 users direct access to those files on the CD. All other directories were translated in compliance with the Windows 3.1 operating system and may be accessed without trouble. (Attempting to access the \WIN95NT4 directory will cause no harm, you simply will not be able to read the contents)



Macintosh Installation Instructions


  1. Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.

  2. When an icon for the CD appears on your desktop, open the disc by double-clicking on its icon.

  3. Double-click on the icon named Guide to the CD-ROM, and follow the directions that are displayed.
